Vacation to Florida

Day one: We drove to Jackson, MI and stayed the night. We ate at Ruby Tuesdays. I had yummy fish and then we let the kids swim in the out door pool.

Day two: Got up early and drove to Seaside. Mobile Alabama is really cool. You drive through a tunnel under water. We ate at a cute diner In Pensacola, Fl with an appetizer of fried green tomatoes. We arrived in Seaside around 3. Our tree house was cute. The bottom floor was a screened porch with a table, grill, and sink. Outside the porch in the backyard was a cute pool. On the next level there was a king size bed, a shower, and a trundle bed. The third floor had a kitchen, living room, shower, and balcony.
After getting settled in we went to the beach. Of course the kids jumped into the pool first. We played at the sunny beach for a while and then we walked to the town. We decided to eat at Bud and Alley's outside. I ordered blackened grouper and red shrimp. I was freaked out because the shrimp had heads. Jason ordered crab cakes and they were yummy.. We walked home along the beach and swam!

Day three: Monday - woke up to rain. :( No sun, but we decided to go look at some of the shops around. We ended up at uptown Grayton beach shopping center. One of the shops told us about Panama City Beach and so we went to shop there. Jason and I got new shoes. Also he and the kids got boogie boards. We ate at an Italian place. It stopped raining so the kids got to jump on these things that made them go high, ride rides, and Jade got a hair wrap. That night we went back to Seaside and swam in the pool and ocean.

Day four: Tuesday - woke up to rain :( We decided to drive to Destin to a Gulfarium. We watched dolphin and sea lion shows. The kids also fed sting rays and watched a man feed sharks. On the way home we stopped at Kilwin's and bought fudge and taffy. That night we ate at the Shrimp Shack. We had a lobster roll and a pound of red shrimp with heads. The kids loved them. We sat outside and watched the waves. Later that evening we swam in the ocean and pool. We ended our day with a late night hot dog snack by the pool.

Day five: Wednesday - woke up to rain :( Drove to Destin again. Ate lunch at Cheeseburger's on Paradise. Later went to a water park. It rained most of the day. The water park was awesome. It had everything you could imagine a water park would. My favorite ride was this yellow slide with a double raft. Jade and I rode together and it was so wild she almost fell through. That night w ate at Great Southern. They specialize in grits. Jason got Grits a YaYa. It was shrimp on top of cheese grits. I got grouper, fried oysters, cheese grits, and green beens. Oh and for desert yummy key lime pie! Later went home and watched Alice and Wonderland with the kids.

Day six: Thursday - woke up to rain :( decided to stay in and watch the rain. We cooked steaks on the grill with potatoes and squash. We got out for a little bit and went to some shops in Water Color. For supper we went to Crush and ate sushi. After sushi we got the kids ice cream and another Key Lime Pie! Later we walked the beach and swam. The tide was super high and powerful.

Day seven: Friday - Sun!!!!! We got excited because there was sun. So we booked a jet ski tour in Panama City Beach's Saint Andrews park. We ate breakfast at Pickles before we left Seaside so we didn't eat lunch. After we got to the park we had a while so we swam for a little bit. When our Jet ski tour started we went out into the ocean and saw som dolphins swimming. Later we went to shell island and found sand dollars and hermit crabs. We ate supper at Market Cafe. Jason had a Frieda grouper po boy and I had a platter with all kids of sea food.

Day eight: Saturday- Sad day! We packed our car, went to breakfast, and now we are on our way to Shreveport, LA. We are going to stay the night there and then get up and drive tomorrow.

Even though it rained most of our trip, we made the best of it. We had a wonderful time with the kids. They amaze me with their courage and ability to adjust to any situation. To hear them talk about things and play together is amazing in every way. God has bless our family with so much. We laugh, play, and enjoy every second together. Even the constant "why's" from Andrew and "are we there yet/what happens next" from Jade.
